STEP for Women Mentorship Programs

STEP for Women will offer both a group mentorship program and a one on one mentorship program. They will both act as a supporting network for women in trades. Mentoring provides for a powerful personal development and empowerment.

Successful mentoring relationships result from establishing common ground on both personal and professional terms and a shared cultural background. Factors such as experiences, career interests, hobbies, future aspirations, logistical issues and likelihood of personal compatibility can be used to successfully match mentors and mentees.

STEP for Women One on One Mentorship Program

The one on one mentorship forum is being piloted as a solution for the recruitment and retention needs of the apprentice and the employer.

Coaching for confidence is the main objective of the mentorship program.

STEP for Women is a joint initiative of the British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA) and the Metis Nation BC (MNBC)
with funding support from the BC Ministries of Economic Development and Community Services.
